Alex Puddu was born in Rome, Italy, in 1967 but moved
to Denmark at the age of 19 and quickly established his reputation
as a musician in a number of indie rock bands. In 1997, he and

Boys of 79 Bad Boys of '79

of Puddu Varano. Together with Giuseppe De Bellis (Undergram,Anesthesia)
and the danish bass player Maria Holst .Bad Boys of 79 is based
in Copenhagen The new CD "Evil Leads the dance " is
inspired from : Late-night encounters on back streets as seen
in dystopic movies such as The Warriors, Escape from New York,
The new Barbarians, Tenebrae, Nightmare in the City... just to
mention a few. The sound of Bad Boys of 79 is based on break beats
and samples with the sounds of early 80s' synths and delay-effects,
all played and recorded with a minimalistic style in mind.but
with great accuracy . Alex Puddu composed, recorded, and produced
the album himself and describes the sound of the project in a
few words as : "Easy beat, evil bite "

Only a year later, Alex Puddu's first solo album, "Chasing
the Scorpion's Tail" was released and was followed by "The
Silence of the Sun and the Rhythm of the Rain" in 2005. Both
albums mark a musical change for Alex Puddu. The first was influenced
by jazz and lounge music whereas the second had a touch of soul,
folk, and psychedelia. "Songs for the Sleepers" is a
return to the musical roots with a mix of indie rock and electronica.
The album contains 10 luscious tracks, radiant with melancholy
and romance which emphasize Alex Puddu's qualities as a songwriter.
